Live 14.2

Bonjour,

*** Not a block device: '/run/media/patrick/d989aaf7-7e76-4d10-b6d8-b0a4266c19ad/' !

Dans un essai prcdent j'avais mis /dev/sdd1 ; a ne lui a pas plu non plus

*** You need to point to the USB device, not a partition (/dev/sdd1)!

.
Dommage parce que j'ai trouv que a marchait pas mal, mais pas persistent, en attendant la sortie de la version officielle ?

I don't know what you did when downloading the script but line 8 of the script has a comment character at the beginning (which you seem to have removed):

# 1. Redistributions of this script must retain the above copyright

What was the exact commandline you have used? Please be more specific in what you did or else your other comments are irrelevant.

Note: The script needs the device node of a USB stick, not of one of its partitions. It will erase the complete content before creating new partitions on the stick.

Re: Live 14.2

Bonjour (Hello),

Oh yes, sorry, you were right, my script was wrongly copied, but now it's Ok, and it's getting better (nearly)
The first time, my commandline was :

./iso2usb.sh -i /home/patrick/Linux/slackware64-live-current.iso -o /dev/sdd1

where ~/Linux is the directory I've downloaded the iso to. I get the answer

./iso2usb.sh : option non permise -- i

which is normal, there is no -i option for this script !! so I change -i for a -v , and there I get :

Slackware repository root '/mnt/auto/sox/ftp/pub/Linux/Slackware' does not exist! Exiting.

and here, I dont know what I must do.
Just let me you know that I'm not an "informaticien" (I dont know how you say in english), and I thank you for your help, and your patience.

I think you downloaded the wrong script this time... the error you are getting is from http://taper.alienbase.nl/cgit/liveslak … re_live.sh and not from http://taper.alienbase.nl/cgit/liveslak … iso2usb.sh

The iso2usb.sh script DOES have a "-i" parameter.

Re: Live 14.2

ok, I think I get the right script now ( with an 'i' option).
Problem anyway ; if I write

./iso2usb.sh -i /home/patrick/Linux/slackware64-live-current.iso -o /dev/sdd1

, the answer is

*** You need to point to the USB device, not a partition (/dev/sdd1)!

and otherwise I get

/iso2usb.sh -i /home/patrick/Linux/slackware64-live-current.iso -o /run/media/patrick/d989aaf7-7e76-4d10-b6d8-b0a4266c19ad/
*** Not a block device: '/run/media/patrick/d989aaf7-7e76-4d10-b6d8-b0a4266c19ad/

There is an other way to call the USB  device ?

Re: Live 14.2

/dev/sdd et non /dev/sdd1. Il faut pointer vers le priphrique et non la partition.
